Kudos to the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris for this recipe. It’s the best take on the mojito I’ve ever had.

Ingredients:
- fresh mint leaves
- crystal sugar
- brown sugar
- fresh blackberries
- lime juice
- grapefruit vodka
- blackberry liqueur
- raspberry liqueur
- soda water

Directions:
- Watch the video to see the proportions for this delicious cocktail. Some tips from Joe: Use 4 blackberries per mojito in a highball glass, and garnish with just 1 blackberry split in two. It’s likely you don’t have the same ingredients as our friend Thierry Hernandez, so you can substitute a wild berry or field berry vodka (from the Smirnoff/Absolut flavored series).comment on this

Something about this nerdy girl turns me on. She is talking about mixing cups (Boston Shakers). If you read this site on a regular basis, you should already know all about this. HOWEVER, as a bartender, I never hit the mixer and glass against anything. Just tap it with your hand and you will get a perfectly fine seal. Never risk breaking glass when you are working behind a bar and things are moving fast and crazy. Broken glass = wasted time = less drinks = less tips. Plus… broken glass could kill one of your customers. ALWAYS, respect the glass.

But I still think this four-eyed bartender is kind of cute — in a cynical, art-nerd way.

Mojito Madness continues with a new how – to – make – a – mojito – video. This one is cool because it has puppets. A quick question for the readership – do any of you muddle part of the lime peel along with the mind leaves? I’ve been told it releases some oils, etc. but now I am thinking it is just superstition.

Some people get intimidated when it comes to Mojitos because there is muddling involved. I don’t know why this is – because I LOVE to muddle. To kick things off, here is a quick recipe for making super-simple Bacardi-style Mojitos.

But I’ll deal with it. In addition to the amazing rum, the Sailor Jerry company also makes clothes and other miscellania. This video is from a photo shoot for their last catalog or whatever. It’s fun and it makes me think of rum and cute little tattooed girls with really bad drinking problems.

I will admit I posted this one because the bartender is wearing a bikini. In today’s video, Stacey from Coyote Ugly shows how to mix up a Long Island Ice Tea. I’m not sure I approve of her technique – and to be honest, I have never made such a tiny Long Island Ice Tea. Something about seeing it in that little disposable cup just turns me off. But… I like the bikini. Sue me!
