Repeal Day

It’s December 5th! This is the day America celebrates the repeal of prohibition.

From the official Repeal Day site: “On December 5th, 1933, Utah, the final state needed for a three quarters majority, ratified the 21st Amendment, repealing Prohibition and restoring the American right to a celebratory drink. While the amendment still allowed for state and local levels of Prohibition, by 1966 there were no state laws banning alcohol.”

This is the best holiday ever. No special costumes, no gifts to buy, no family obligations – just head to your favorite bar or liquor store and celebrate one of the things that makes America great!

I never knew so many there was even a holiday for that but I guess that is what happens when you’ve never entered the bar scene.
