Today’s interview is with the Bartender Bombshell. We can’t reveal her secret identity, but we can reveal that she is currently slinging drinks at a Tony Roma’s in Arcadia, California.

Why did you decide to get into bartending?

I’ve worked in restaurants since I was 15 and I wanted to try something new. I’ve always thought that bartending was more of an art form

How did you go about getting your first bartending gig? Was it tough to land your first one?

Well, I started working at a little restaurant by my house when I was 20 and there were only two bartenders. I kept on my manager constantly about wanting to move up to bartender. I’m a real people person and I wanted to try it out, even if only one night a week. Now, its a little over a year later and I’m head bartender and I work 6 nights a week

What is your favorite drink to make?

I have a lot. I like to be challenged with drinks with a lot of ingredients because if you don’t make it right, then the whole drink is off. Some of my favorites are the Cosmo, Mojito, Chocolate Martini, Chocolate Cake Shot, Long Island, etc.

What is your least favorite drink to make?

For some reason, I dont like making an Old Fashioned. Other than that, I hate making boring drinks like pouring beer & wine, rum and coke etc.

What is your bartender pet peeve?

I have a million. I hate when people walk in and expect a free drink just because they know you. Or when you make like 6 time-consuming drinks for someone then they leave you a buck. People don’t realize, we live off our tips!!!

What’s the most interesting/scandalous thing that’s happened to you on the job?

Nothing too horrible. I’ve had a few really bad drunks. I’ve had two walk-outs with out paying. Ive had people try to scam me outta money. Nothing I can’t handle though, so far

What’s the best line somebody has used to get a free drink from you?

Haha, man… I’ve heard them all! Um, one of my favorites is when someone said they would propose to me if i give them free shots. No!!!

What’s the most memorable pickup line you’ve heard?

Well, one guy told me “You get uglier as I drink more.” I was pretty mad, but then he tried to explain that I couldn’t get any more beautiful so the only other option was to get more ugly. Wow!!

Who would you want to have a drink with and why?

The most famous bartender in the country so I can ask him a million questions!

Tell us one thing about tending bar that we might not know.

You probably know everything, but, one thing I’ve learned is to make the person feel as comfortable as possible and that will increase your tips.
